Indie Gala
« on: December 05, 2011, 09:35:46 pm »

A new Indie game bundle site has open up: http://www.indiegala.com
I'm told (and looks) that it's legit. So far the only platform is Steam and the games they're offering aren't all that interesting to me. Could be interesting in the future however.

I'm currently not sure who's behind it and that has me a bit worried. The Indieroyale made it clear they were part of the Desura team. However I'm getting confirmed reports of keys being sent via email and them working for people so it seems to be very much legit. Wish the contact page was a little more than some chap in Rome though.
EDIT: Seems to be BRTStudios that are behind this. (http://www.btrstudios.com/?cat=3)

Seems odd they'd donate to such a regionally specific charity instead of something a bit more universal like the EFF or say, MSF

Bought it, its legit, though it takes a bit for the order to go through and the paypal was in Italian at first (But if you change the "It" to "En" in the address bar it works fine.) Also the Codes are sent directly to your email which is weird.

Your Doodles are bugged and Saira don't look interesting but the zombie shooters might be okay *Shrug*

Honestly, none of the games look too good. And I buy some pretty crappy games.

The only one that looked any interesting to me was Saira and maybe Your Doodles Are Bugged. The others ones aren't my thing. Not really a fan of *insert genre here*.

Really? The trailers make them look terrible. The best thing they could find was a bunch of sluggish click-to-kill gameplay.

The rest are games that look like they might fun, but my better judgement tells me they're probably pretty bad. My steam library is bloated as it is, so I'm passing. But I'll keep an eye on these in the future. More bundles = good.

I can't blame you. I was considering paying $1... and I still felt like that was too much.

I looked at the title and was hoping for an Indie team to make a game based around the Grand Galloping Galla from My Little Pony...

If you ask me, these ripoff Indie bundles are going to be a trend now. One company had a great idea, they were the original and probably the best Humble Indie Bundle. Indie Royale came along, which cleverly deals with the issue of people paying one cent. And now a tide of ripoff bundles, trying to to shove mediocre games down our throats. We want good games from years ago, not things that didn't sell well yesterday!

I'm not sure is this sudden explosion of cheap cheaper cheapest Indie games is a good thing or a bad thing. Mostly good, for the moment.

Maybe it's parasitic. It never loses its flavor because you eventually die from having your nutrients stolen by it.

I think it's a good thing. Obviously not all of them are going to be the same quality.

So far the only one I've found good enough to buy is the HiB, though.

I believe this one is just this particular bundle. It doesn't even seem like it tried. I found some of Indie Royale's games to be on the bleh side, but these were rejects, you're right. If you look at the average for cost, it's $1.27. I thought that was at least twice what the bundle was worth.

Saira is by Nifflas, so that at least should be decent. I might lay down a couple bucks for this tomorrow.

Now in the bundle there is also indie music: Gareth Coker (InMomentum Soundtrack), StarFker (Reptilians),The Flashbulb (Terra Firma, L.A.A.D.H.),  Robot Science (Doodads, Good Luck).
You get 7 indie games and 6 indie CDs in total for the last few days of bundle

Hey now.
Wait until someone puts the music on piratebay before you automatically take a jab at Dubstep.
It could easily be shitty techno, or godawful rock music.
