Mouse Troubles
« on: December 16, 2011, 07:46:08 am »

Sometimes when I'm doing my regular thing, my mouse's wheel goes out of whack and makes the screen go up and down. I keep trying to ignore it, but how can I continue playing dwarf fortress when the wheel makes this happen:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Now the mouse makes the screen too small for me to read. Do I need to buy a new mouse or something?

Sometimes

Hold control when you roll the mouse wheel.

Sometimes

Hold control when you roll the mouse wheel.

What? That'll just make him zoom in and out.

I mean, try standing on your head and make sure you don't get dizzy.

Depending on OS, you might be able to turn off mousewheeling in a control panel menu or suchlike.

Check your mouse control setting.

Just get a new mouse?  $10 or less should get you a decent one.

Also, if it's plugged into a usb hub or something, plug it directly into the computer.

I thought this was going to be about actual mice.

Have you tried using a mouse trap with cheese on it?
