I can generate new worlds quite happily, but when i go "start playing", all hell breaks loose. Last time the game just froze my comp. no mouse movement, no ctrl-alt-del.

Im running 2k with sp4.
Ive just recently reformatted (this morning) but as far as i know ive got everything DF should need reinstalled.

It is strange that i can run the game fine, and generate worlds, just not play on them :S

Oh, it actually freezes while doing the "importing world" thing.
And it doesnt always happen >_< gyaaar, the carnage.

Wait, were you able to play before you reformatted?  Or was this the first time you've tried to play?  Does it work if you use a pregenerated world?
