No hauling from trade depot/carpenter's shop/outdoors
« on: May 15, 2008, 11:50:00 pm »

I recently finished the first autumn's trading, but now nobody is hauling anything AWAY from the trade depot and to the regular stockpiles, which is unfavorable to me since the trade depot isn't quite as secure as the area where the stockpiles are (reasonably enough, since the depot needs to be easy-access).

Also, outdoor items don't seem to be getting hauled. There was a kobold corpse outside, right outside and above the trade depot entrance, and nobody is bothering to pick up his weapon, body, or clothing.

Also, the carpenter's workshop is full of finished furniture (beds, cages, etc.) which nobody is moving.

Rocks and stuff from the mason's workshop get moved just fine, as do most other things. These things also aren't listed on the (j)obs list. It also doesn't matter if I have somebody actually set to haul the stuff; somebody can be set to "haul furniture" and nothing else, but won't bother actually getting the furniture out of the carpenter's workshop, instead opting for "no job".

Full stockpiles?

Dwarves forbidden to go outside?

Lazy Dwarf Syndrome?

Edit: Oh god, I know what was wrong. I had some weird settings wrong in one or two of my stockpiles... specifically, the "allow plant/animal" and "allow non-plant/animal" ones. Sorry for the newbie error.

I know I have stockpile room. The old furniture stockpile has a bit of room in it, and I have another large stockpile willing to accept, well, just about anything. Also, my dwarves are certainly allowed to go outside.

It's strange; they'll take chairs and stuff out of the *mason's* shop, but not the carpenter's. And it doesn't actually matter if it's IN the carpenter's shop; I tried disassembling it and forcing dwarves to move the items by placing statues where they were, then ditched the statues and built the workshop again. Now there's just clutter *near* the workshop people won't take away.

As far as dwarves being lazy, I don't know. They do other jobs just fine.
