Moods and Fuel
« on: December 11, 2011, 11:24:21 pm »

A Metal smith of mine has laid claim to a forge, but I have neither Charcoal or Coke.
Is this an issue?

Actually, I think you're fine.  I just had a metalcrafter mood that I'm pretty sure didn't use up any charcoal.

Thank you! Apparently, dwarves in a mood are so filled with Armok's will that they do not require fuel.

Yep.  Dwarven engineering and all... hehe.

Now if only the little blighters wouldn't use up pig iron and steel when I have such perfect amounts stockpiled for armor making...

However, be aware that if they claim a magma forge, they need it powered for all of the mood's duration, otherwise the mood gets cancelled and they go mad.

What's "candy"? The only thing in DF that comes in wafers is Adamantine, and all dwarves know what that is.

It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

@ OP: Beware if they ask for "rock bars" in the course of their mood; they'll want coke or charcoal for that demand.

@ Quietust: I have a hard time telling intent on the internet-- are you trying to be a total killjoy about Jerg using dorky nicknames for semi-spoilery stuff, or genuinely ignorant that "candy" is a dorky nickname for the semi-spoilery stuff?

ETA: Sorry, that was really aggressive and rude of me. I don't think it's worth sassing at someone, just because they want to joke about adamantine and related subjects being spoilers using the "cotton-candy/circus/clown" euphemisms.

I thought rock bars were referring to metal bars?

dont be sorry, most people use more guarded names like candy, the circus and clowns for the stuff that is hidden even if you use dfhack reveal

its a bit unnice to just say all the things outright, but anyone with any brains can find all the info anyway

Personally I'm a little biased against the whole clown thing as well. In my opinion they should be called HFS and adamantine. HFS since that was what it was originally called, but after all raw adamantine shows up in the stones economic menu, so I don't really know why it is spoilered at all. As for the rock bars thing I believe that wafers act equivalently to bars for the purposes of moods.

Cotton candy is another name for a certain blue...never mind, it's not like anyone doesn't know what's under the magma sea.

Adamantine is no less spoilery than the Magma Sea - in a vast majority of cases, you discover both of them simultaneously.
