Above ground? Garden? Surely you jest. Only reason any respectable dwarf would venture above ground is to either slay gobbos or to procure some fermented strawberry goodness.

But seriously, what sort of garden? Pics and all that jazz.

Also my save got corrupted and wouldn't startup so I've started again... will someone tell me how my dorfs are able to walk across a brooke with a waterfall?

I mean hell there is a badger corpse bloody and everything and its not polluting the brooke? What the wat?

Brooks are special tiles. Your Dwarves can walk through them easily, without even getting wet.

Not like water at all.

Brooks are quite shallow. More so in DF than IRL. If you've ever been in a forest, it's one of those streams that are thigh high at most. It's probably easier for Toady to make separate brook tiles instead of 1/7 water tiles. Sorry about your save.
