Umm no, you can't just randomly add rules, and since I don't actually have the provinces, nor did I take them, a pubic union shouldn't count. I don't see how it would screw this up in any case since it won't make you get colonists any faster.

EDIT: Huh, Galicia actually showed up, first time I saw that happen. Also England entered into a personal union with Wurtemburg, with the latter leading, oh how the mighty have fallen. France declared war on me so no more personal union for me. :(

I have to agree with Spoon, it's a bit late to add a rule now. I mean, I can't help it if I get in a personal union now, I've got royal marriages with half of Europe! I had nothing else to spend the diplomats on.

Also, I could've formed Ireland as early as 1407 if the French hadn't pussied out. Seriously, the English tried to reconquer Normandy, then the French kicked their ass. Along the way, the French formed an alliance with Scotland, who crushed what little English forces there were in the British Isles and were sieging about half of England. Then France accepts a white peace with England. A white peace, of all things. I reloaded an earlier save several times, but every time, they accept a white peace, regardless of whether I try to conquer Meath or not.

Eh, do it by any means necessary. You can try more than once, if you want. You have almost a week left. I'll be starting tomorrow when I get my laptop back.

Regarding the first challenge; holy shit! How do you guys manage to do that? Going to war with ANYONE gets my ass kicked when I play as a 1/2/3 province country. Everything small enough to conquer is always protected by giant cascading alliances.

First of all, attack early, before those alliances are in place.

Secondly, take advantage of any crack in those alliances after they appear.

I took out Connaught first. Leinster did the calculations and decided that attacking Connaught was a good idea since their war capacity was zero(I was sieging their only province). They built a couple of mercenary units and prepared to attack. Then I annexed Connaught, indirectly ending Leinster's war as well. Leinster promptly disbanded their entire army, so guess what I did? Britanny guaranteed Leinster, but only after I attacked it. Munster decided that since Leinster had no war capacity it was a good idea to attack, thus making Britanny attack them. Thus, I could finish of Leinster and attack Munster with impunity, even though Britanny had guaranteed Munster's independence earlier, because they can't be allied in a war with a country they're at war with. It was real close marching my army into Munster before Brittany landed theirs, though.

I didn't even plan on taking them all on in such rapid succession, I just took advantage of various opportunities.

EDIT: WAIT, SHIT. I FORGOT TO CHANGE THE SETTINGS FIRST. I'M STILL ON NORMAL.

Alright, two more days to go.

That's quite the high (low?) bar you've set, 1422. I've gotten it down to 1425, but have to work on my early blitzkrieg.

Yeah, I got lucky with England's succession crisis right as I was with war with them.
