Slight Control Issue
« on: November 17, 2011, 11:57:53 pm »

Currently, I'm stuck on the designation list. Unable to leave it or change from mine. Also, the designations that came with the left mouse button now longer need it held down.

Anyone able to help?

Try hitting escape to see if going into that menu helps. Alternatively I would suggest simply saving/exiting and then restarting DF.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Escape doesn't even do anything.  :'(

Thus, I can't save.

Ctrl+alt+delete would probably be my next suggestion then :(. What exactly did you do to get into this scenario?

I was planning on expanding my graveyard, switched from cut down trees to mine, and hit enter. I may have hit something on the left side of the keyboard. Then, the above symptoms occurred.

Not that it matters, I force quitted the game.

I thought about this, but it wouldn't explain the mouse designation part of the problem. It sounded like the game freaked out when certain keys were hit at the same time, but it could just be something simple that I'm missing.

i never use the mouse except for burrows (you pretty much have to), but capslock would explain everything

Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.

Very possibly Caps Lock, like everybody else said. Hitting that will make just about all the keys stop working. But not sure how that made it freeze up. Sorry about your game, though. :(
