The Nascent Game
« on: December 03, 2011, 06:15:57 pm »

Once upon a time, i made a game, the game.
It is set in a world defined by the first person that takes a move.
There are 4 elements: An area, an object, a rule and the player

There are a few base rules:

An object cannot exist unless its confined within an area, an object can be freely transferred through areas if carried by the player. If an object is defined, but not confined, it is then a product of mind and only there to demonstrate the confined instances properties

A rule can be defined and omitted if another rule turns it obsolete. A rule is not neccesarily confined, but if it is, it only applies the the elements its confined to.

A player can interact with objects and areas in any valid way. However a player cannot directly alter a rule or a concept. Indirect altering includes: by action, by rule and by reaction.

A player can, by default, walk anywhere he wishes unless he is constrained to a rule(s) that states otherwise(You cannot cross the mountains to the moon, etc, if defined)
A player can, by default, interact with anything, pick up anything, unless he and/or the object are constrained to a rule(s) that states otherwise(The box is heavy, etc.)
A player can only take one action, and define one rule per turn, excessive rule defining is frowned upon. Defining initial area does not count as an action or definition.
If above rule somehow is altered or omitted, they cannot take more than 5 extra actions, and still only 1 rule definition, this rule cannot be altered, (in)directly or omitted in any way.
A player cannot skip another players turn, he/she must wait atleast one post before posting a new turn. This cannot this rule cannot be altered, (in)directly or omitted in any way.

Ok lets do this.

We are in space, planets and stars litter the space, you can land on a planet, each planet functions as a world, with their own areas and such. You can only travel space by a vessel of sorts
I define: A player can, if desired, combine any two kinds of items, but he/she must specify bonding method, in wich if relevant, a third object is consumed. Combined objects inherit properties from both objects, and if relevant, from the bonding object(s)
Action: I materialise a space ship from thin air, (there are no rules stating otherwise) it is long and golden, and runs on zero point energy, it is equipped with various energy based utilities such as tractor beams and lasers, and a landing shuttle to land on a planet, this space ship is too large to enter any planet with an athmosphere.

I define: snipers are everywhere in space and your spaceship cannot have windows if it is in a area with them.
Action: I build sniper platforms all across space.
