One REALLY fey mood...
« on: November 14, 2007, 03:01:00 am »

It's common knowledge that fey moods sometimes transform related materials (hematite to iron, etc), but how about entire workshops? A tanner of mine has gone fey, but claimed no workshop. Aware of the bug in the current version, I dismantled the mason's shop he was standing next to, and placed a tanner's around him. Sure enough, he claimed it (it listed as "has claimed a Tanner's Workshop!") snatched a piece of tigerfish leather, and went on his constructing spree. The result: an artifact tigerfish leather cloak with menacing spikes of same leather, a legendary tanner, and a LEATHERWORKER'S SHOP!!! I noticed only after I've given out orders to sew leather images (hoping to get that legendary to work), and then realized that tanning shouldn't do that...

Never noticed that. I didn't have too many tanners "mooding" (as in, none at all), so that might be that certain workshop's lil' feature. At any rate, I think this is a bug. Since a mood requires a workshop, it makes no sense if it converts the workshop into something else when the mood's done. It does make sense to make a leather cloak at a leatherworker's, not the tanner's, but that's beside the point. He should have demanded that workshop if he needed it - I already had one built.

This happened in the old version, I think the most extreme case was someone turned a Kennel into a craft workshop.  I've had one tanner go fey, he took over the leatherworks and became legendary tanner.

Hmm...

I've had someone with zero Masonry skill grab a Masonry Workshop, then go downstairs, grab a piece of aluminum ore, and make an aluminum throne. I'm not sure if that's a similar issue (I haven't checked to see if the Masonry shop is still Masonry) or if it's just a naming issue- although the aluminum throne seems valued for pure aluminum, rather than ore.
