You could change your entity raws to make the monarch manually appointed, but changes to the entity raws require a world regen, so it's not going to help you with an existing world. There's nothing you can do with this one - the monarch is dead, and there doesn't seem to be any way to generate a new monarch in fortress mode.
All right, thanks, that answers my question. I think I'll either flood my fortress with water now or join the circus. Losing is a
lot more fun than this framerate and nothing new happening.
Establish an anarcho-communist commune. That way, you won't feel like you're missing out.
Not so sure that's a good idea...
Anarchy = all for one one for one and one for all all for all = Urist McPartyboy is holding a party at the limestone statue = Dwarves are already anarchists from the beginning.
And as for communists... You know what they say about Soviet Russia...
lol yeah, i know what they say, and all the people who study politics agree that it wasnt actually communism, but some way to get poor people to work without having to pay them (much). Communism and socialism are philosophies. Capitalism hasnt been implemented yet either (if it was, whats all those copyright laws doing? protecting the market? its supposed to be free)
Enh, I was making a Yakov Smirnov style joke: "In Soviet Russia, cats cage you" -- it was a fail. And I don't study politics, though I know that what exactly Stalin was doing isn't agreed on by everyone. From what I've seen, it's usually hard to apply philosophy to real-world circumstances and events. I do agree with you, though, that it wasn't "Communism" in the strictest sense. Not so sure I agree with you about Capitalism - it's a lot less well-defined than Communism and has a lot of different definitions, and the classification of an economic system can depend largely on how you define the philosophy. I think the current state of economy could be closest classified as "a mess". But at least it runs.
Interesting. I would have bet the only way to be without a leader was if there was nobody to appoint. As in, if the whole civilization got wiped out.
I seem to remember that this is a bug related to the whole no nobles show thing. I seem to remember somebody a while back came up with a prince position that inherited the king position if the king died, so as long as they both didn't die then the king remained.
It is kind of interesting, in a way. You'd think the nobles in the Mountainhome would fight over who would be king next. I think it's not so much a bug that you can't reappoint a king, but that the game doesn't reappoint one itself.
