Or perhaps anaethos/anaethism (ana, against + ethos, 'accustomed place', values). It's kind of unsightly but perhaps a bit more focused on the crux of the device.

I love a bit of Latin or Greek[1], and approve of those monoverbs[2], but my basic thought was simply "Playing Against Stereotype" (c.f. "Playing Against Type", relating to the actor qualities, rather than the character template qualities).

There must be something on TVTropes.  Go on... you know you want to...  actually, I think I'll just...

[2] Just made that up.  Awful, aint it?  Can't find a better Latin word than "Verbum" to represent 'word', but it's already taken root in English when for... verbs.
