Let's murder that elf.  Make him beg for mercy first, just in case he has anything vaguely important to say before we make his body rot from the inside out like the necromancer we are.

He's already dead bro.

Funnily, he took one less shot than the Kite Shaman XD!

No, don't do that.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

By the way, you totally got jipped by the chest.  You can sometimes get chain or even plate mail armor from it!

I love this game, but my biggest complaint about it is how lousy it is to go tech.  I only beat the game after I realized how futile it is to go tech.

Hence the 'see if he screams for mercy' line.  ;P

Apologise for not posting anything up, I'd originally wanted to do one a day but even being unemployed I've gotta spend loads of time doing stuff <w>

I'll do bits when I can, AT LEAST once a week hopefully a tad more.

Its not futile to go tech! If anything it is the better path--mage is basically playing through fallout 2 with a bozar--sure everything is dead, quick, but the challenge is gone, even if you purposefully skip dark necromancy.

Tech also has awesome found schematics (just more dwarfy to make undead by finding first necromancers secret tomb and building an elaborate reanimator, rather than summoning them like an orc servitor)

...and you end up with an army of robotic spiders and a lightning gun if you played your cards right.

Just don't get stupid paths like gunsmithing. Electric and mechanical are amazing, herbalism is kind at level 1 investment, chemistry can be a great boon to a thief (not as great as mechanics though), invest some combat skills in throwing add explosives and a good throwing weapon (even a useless mage-disk is nice) and every rag you can find and you have a molotov cocktail killing machine.

See, that all is good and awesome, but the major stopping point in the game is the cave with the Golems.  If you can't beat that by level 14 or so, you simply can't go further in the game, unless you grind the few random encounters on the worldmap.

And you can't kill Golems with molotov cocktails.  I tried.  Golems can eat like 20 molotov cocktails, you can't throw them forever, and there are more than one Golem in the cave.

Whereas, if you just put those same points in strength and melee, than you can just crush the Golems with physical attacks, generally sacrificing a broadsword in the process.  I beat the game without magic or tech, just pumping stats and attributes that help melee combat, adding as much charisma as I could, so I could recruit lots of strong allies.
