How to transport goblins?(in cages)

i got a couple of goblins in my cage trap, i tried to transport one to a pen... 1 dwarf dead and he escaped... so... can you guys tell me how to transport goblins?

Master thieves escape easily. Any regular military goblin shouldn't be able to escape.

Don't transport the goblin.  Transport the cage.  Build a cage where you want the goblin to go, and when selecting which cage to press expand the selection list and select the cage labeled 'goblin cage'.  The cage with the goblin in it will be installed, with the goblin never being released from the cage.
