[38c] Buggy water.
« on: March 08, 2008, 07:36:00 pm »

I redirected my underground river through a 4 wide corridor to the front of my fortress. After using the river to flood my tree farm a few times I noticed this in the corridor:

code:

777777777777777777777777777
777777777777777777777777777
777777777777377777777777777
777777777777777777777777777

Notice the single '3' in the middle of all the sevens.
My guess is that the flow code doesn't bother running unless the two adjacent tiles have a difference of 1.

I have a save if you want it toady. unfortunately it is just after the '3' appeared, not before... I'll see if i can reproduce it tonight.

This is probably an artifact of the "Static Flow" boolean.  The game thinks that whole section of water isn't flowing for some reason.

Same thing happens when you use a utility to create magma in the river.  They co-exist happily for some time before exploding into obsidian.

As long as no utilities were used to place the water, I'll take a look at it.  I might not be able to figure out the specific cause from the after-the-fact water, but there are a few different static flags and it would help to know which one is involved.

I've seen the same thing and it was trees growing in the water for me. I've seen this in 38a and 38c.
