So um, do we have to discuss our sentence here before we post anything? Or can I just go ahead and post?
I hope it's the latter... If I did anything wrong, I can always edit it!

I was thinking - the man with the suitcase could be a thief that stole something he really shouldn't have, and his pursuer is Simmons or one of his associates. Our protagonist could then investigate the theft, and then discover the original thief is dead, which would then somehow lead him to whoever's in possession of the stolen object/suitcase/thing now, Simmons and friends.

What does it matter? It's easier to see previous sentences this way. It's just less work for you, y'know.

Well, post them how you like, but when I add sentences it won't be that way since a. My phone has no copy paste function and b. I can only write a post to be so long before the limited temp memory in my phone does not allow me to write anymore. But yeah, go ahead if you want! Also, feel free to try and take the story in one general direction, and use rhetoric on your fellow players to sway them to your vision of the story!

Ehm, what? Whom is stone? If the bearded man with the brief case is the watchman, and the guy being followed is a pedophile, then who is the petty thief? I was thinking that the guy with the briefcase was just a vigilante :-/

The guy with the briefcase is pedophile-thief Stone, and he's being shadowed by the Watchman, who I guess is one of Simmons' henchmen. We had decided on the story starting (well, after this part) with our protagonist investigating a theft, ie the theft of whatever's inside the briefcase, had we not?

Or is the Watchman supposed to have the suitcase?

Yeah, I thought that the watchman had the briefcase. And I suppose that the watchman could be simmon's henchman, though we shouldn't let on to that too early.

Fniff, keep in mind that the year is 1911, and that usually the most sophisticated police response was "More Cops". They often didn't have things like police snipers. Maybe some guy with a rifle down the street, but that's about it. Yeah, probably should have pointed that out earlier, but whatever.

If we do this in first person I want it to be cynical max payne style noir. That would be oh so great.

The Watchman should probably get away (with the suitcase) after a brief shootout or something. It'd be silly if a named bad guy would get caught before the story can even begin properly.
