Friendly Goblins during embark and dwarves who won't move
« on: September 26, 2011, 05:47:02 pm »

Alright, this is just ridiculous. I know we all love Fun, but this is a bit much.

Here's what happened... I lost this fort during a major siege (approx 20 swordgobos, 15 crossbowgobos, and 10 trolls) because my dwarves didn't feel like closing the drawbridge... I was forced to abandon instead of watch all 184 dwarves die a horrible death. Its just not fun for me to watch unless I set it up, you know?

Well, I went to reclaim the site... And some of the gobos and trolls are still there but marked as friendly. My dwarves and animals refuse to move one step despite the friendly status so I can't start reclaiming the place. Any advice on how I can go about getting them to start moving? Or on how I can chase off the goblins, who also arent moving? Any help would be appreciated

The friendly goblins are a known thing - they'll turn unfriendly as soon as you get a goblin siege/ambush.   The only thing to do is treat them like wild animals and avoid them.  Can you dig a back entrance in somewhere and wall them off?

I AM POINTY DEATH INCARNATE
Ye know, being an usurper overseer gone mad with power isn't too bad. It's honestly not that different from being a normal overseer.
To summarize:
They do an epic face. If that fails, they beat said object to death with their beard.

heres the thing though... My dwarves refuse to move at all. Only way I can get them to do anything is make them in to a militia and have them try to kill gobos... Which is about as sucessful as slaming your head in to a wall to get the wall out of your way. They wont dig, reclaim, drink or eat... Gonna try clearing the place out via adventurer mode. Its the only thing I haven't tried yet

Demi-god adventurer in adventurer mode, with 3 friends, got wiped out in under a minute... This may take awhile to clean up

Well, finally managed to clean out one of the two fortresses in that world... And I still can't get the dwarves to do anything for some reason

Any ideas?

EDIT:: Nevermind... That fortress is glitched and wont let me embark there anymore. Sad way for that epic place to end.
