The session consisted of investigation.  Loaw'Kaldaka chose not to buy overpriced scrolls, and the party took a look at the guard post that had been robbed.  A guard prevented them from entering the post, but the party found a broken arrow outside.  Then they heard metal hitting stone from a distance, and found an unconscious half-elf (apparently having fell from a good distance) and a greatsword by the road.  They also found another broken arrow.  The half-elf, Evelyn D'alan'ada, got healed, and revealed that the last thing she remembered was that she had been asleep in the Restful Bed Inn.

The party, now with Evelyn, got a list of guests from the innkeeper at the Restful Bed Inn, and started investigating.

Guests:
*Stonecutter Varsten, 3rd floor.  Says he saw nothing, and wants to be left alone.
*Tobias Smith, 2nd floor: Not in his room.  Kald broke in, and found a whole lot of shurikens in the walls, a katana in the closet, lots of black clothing, a list of caravan guards, and a locked box.  The list of caravan guards included the original party members.  These names were crossed out, and noted as having been fired.  There were four additional names: "John" (crossed out, apparently dead), Stonecutter Varsten, and Delin and Lavinia Goodbarrel.  Also, a shuriken was found on the bed, by a small bloodstain.  The shuriken was slightly bloody.  It was also clearly magical and silver and poisoned (poor, poor rolls...).
*Scribbley mess, 2nd floor: Not investigated.
*Evelyn, 3rd floor: All valuables left where they were before.  Window closed.  Door's lock was probably picked.

The party, having found such strong evidence as a list of caravan guards and a slightly bloody shuriken, decided that Tobias was to blame for all of this.  They broke into his room again, took the slightly bloody shuriken, called in the guards, and Evelyn managed to trigger the lockbox's needle trap.

Then the session ended.

Funny thing! Loaw'Kaldaka doesn't know that Tobias was the one who hired you guys. He walked into a room with apparently bloody shurikens embedded in the wall, swords lying everywhere, dark clothes...and a list with crossed out names of our party on it. Hence, he assumed Tobias was an assassin responsible for all our player disappearances...lol.

Gnop rolled a 4 on his DC10 memory check too. :P

Wow, getting the man who started this whole thing arrested because of ambiguity..... Good thing I wasn't there...

Sure.

It's fairly easy for to me overlook this, but I'll try to remember this time instead of stumbling onto a session more or less by accident.

Also, I'm going to assume Maptools is eventually going to happen? Are you still working on that? We really don't need it for the roleplaying stuff, though.

Also, we could use more players. Just saying. Maybe alter the thread title after our next session to reflect. S'up to you.

But, on the other hand-a three or four man campaign isn't that bad. As long as we don't lose any of our remaining people. :P

Maptools will, hopefully, eventually, at some point in time, work.  This session, as far as I can tell now, though, is unlikely to be the sort of session where Maptools would significantly help.

IRC stuff up, about 2 and a half hours in advance.

Session over, 500 XP each.

Investigations continued!

*Aedrum saved Tobias from the party, only to watch him get killed by a Black Harrier.  The Harrier got captured, and revealed that he was sent to kill Tobias, as Tobias betrayed the Harriers by hiring a bunch of extremely competent arrow-reflecting mercenaries on the original caravan.  The caravan that the Harriers were meant to steal bows from.
*Checking out the unchecked room...let's see...barricaded, almost empty, scraps of clothing, and there were two other things of note: a list of two names ("Evelyn D'alan'ada" and "Delin Goodbarrel"), and a notebook, one page saying "Met up with Oakhelm contact.  Some magical item and scroll store owner.  Overcharges.  Recieved jobs.  First target eliminated."
*The lockbox got chopped open by Aedrum and that led to the inn getting set on fire.  Which nobody could stop.

The investigation was abandoned by the party, who went to Feldton.  Feldton is not exactly in good shape.  Corpses in the streets, lots of fighting, a Harrier infestation, and some sort of "High Council" doing something in the city.  The party killed an exploding mage working for this High Council, and showed the Unnamed Tavern's bartender the map.

Three buildings marked on the map:
*Guard post, attacked a week ago
*Prison, seized by enemies a couple days ago
*The Goodbarrel household.

Also, I totally rapid shot that harrier in both of his legs with my crossbow to bring him down. Epic!
