Pierce listened intently to Brayden's speech, trying to wrap his mind around the concepts he so nonchalantly threw around. He was somewhat sure he had understood the basics. He didn't have time to learn every little detail in anyhow.

The news were quite depressing in any case. He had no wish to return to New Hong Kong's endless battlegrounds, and suspected he would most likely be wrecked due to his absence even if he did. Still, the Federation the sergeant hailed from seemed quite powerful, even if he had been boasting. Perhaps they could be convinced to destroy that place with whatever weapons they were bound to have at their disposal. He smiled at the thought of his unseen puppeteers burning alive. While he watched, preferably. Or would that be too quick? They deserved to suffer for what they had done. Samuel wondered if the 'plane' of Brayden still had disease of any kind.

He was snapped out of his thoughts by the soldier's last question. He realized he had missed some of the man's words. Atleast with this body, Brayden couldn't see his embarassement.

He pulled out his flintlock pistol and showed it to the sergeant. It was a fine thing, of dark wood and silver, a far cry from the crude killing machine the Federation soldier carried. He had admired it for its beauty many times before, but it seemed to practically glow in the desert sun. There hadn't been much art in his old life, though his memories insisted he had seen things he had thought beautiful in the past. But unlike those memories, this was real and solid. He gripped it tightly, feeling the weight against his hand.

'I... don't think I've ever actually had to reload this thing before.' he said after a while. That hadn't seemed odd until now. Was there some amazing device hidden inside the pistol that could produce shots out of thin air?

'It doesn't matter.' he said, trying to change the subject. 'The New Hong Kong I speak of hosts massive battles each day for the masses to follow, like in Rome of old. Hundreds - perhaps thousands - of... artificial humans die and are recreated in each battle and put to fighting again by their unseen masters.'

He didn't mention he was one of those created beings, unsure of how Brayden would react if he told him. To the Samuel Pierce of his memories, the idea would've seemed revolting. He would have to be careful not to alienate any potential allies.

'We should follow them, in any case.' he said, pointing at the lizard man and the woman who seemed to be on fire. 'We need to stick together for now.'

((EDIT: How long are the turns? Does it end when we reach the oasis, or after a set amount of time?))

The Special Operations Sergeant is somewhat put off by Pierce's comments. A soldier not knowing how to reload his weapon? Brayden decided that he'd broach the subject at a later time. "Yeah, you're probably right. Hey, other chaps, we're stepping off. Keep my offer in mind, playing with those who'd fuck with people's lives ain't good, you know?"

Brayden started walking forward, sinking a bit in the sand as he climbed the first dune. "Bloodsports are barbaric, I have to say. Making people fight to the death? Fuck, making people fight at all is wrong if it ain't important. You want to get back there? I know that the only reason I'd return to a world like that is if I had a couple of kilotons value of KE behind me, you know?"

((Far as I'm tracking, we go on until our GM decides someone to die.))

((Damn, now we're missing two people. I guess we'll just play the game with six people. Oh and your suppose to get to the water first, thats the first goal. After around 2 or 3 someone will be eliminated, and remember you guys create the story and surroundings. You can have your characters discover creatures that live in the desert, find an old cave, find signs of former contestants etc. The water is only the endpoint, however you get there or whatever happens on the way there is up to you.))

Well, you do have a busy life, what with keeping tabs on wild, rough-and-tumble forum members while sorting out the drama between your twenty two inner lesbians.
Your drunk posts continue to baffle me.
Welcome to Reality.

((Oh. In that, case, expect a huge post later today. I thought it was one of those games where we had to react to an action by the PM.))

Chimerus stared at the barren land landscape. The sun was high in the sky, and glaring down on him with its silent fury...
His homeland, Xun had fairly brutal summers but not like this, this heat felt...magical some how, it felt like it was unnatural. If he was going to survive long enough to reach the oasis, he needed food, something juicy and full of water. He remembered eating sweet honey beetles off the ground when master made him hunt vermin for food. He scanned the desert for any sign of life, cacti, lizards, giant mass of dust speeding towards him- Chimerus, stared a the huge mass of swirling sand
, twisting and squirming like a bucket of worms, and charging like a pissed off bull.
"SANDSTORM!" Chimerus yelled at the top of his lungs before taking off in the opposite direction.

((Err, nevermind about the huge post; got some stuff that needs doing.))

"Sandstorm?"

He surveyed his surroundings. Then he saw it. It was forming to his left. The camel was suited to this kind of thing; hatcuri were not.

"Down boy. On your haunches"

The camel went down and Tyetoechl crouched down to take shelter on his right. The leaf would help protect him from the sand.

He could see nothing but sand and camel. The sky was covered; he couldn't even clearly see the fire spirit.
