Then tt's a very smoothly controlled, astonishingly well optimized console port that I think benefits from the mouse. I don't think it's a port, and I'm not sure why the fact that it's also on consoles matters. It feels like a PC game, and not a clunky attempt to shoehorn it onto the platform.

Seriously.  It is a console port, the game was originally console only, but it's a very good port.

I think it's better on gamepad though, especially melee.

Oh, it was released on console first? Ah. That's still not a deal breaker for me, it was ported very well.

No, I mean it was developed for console and later PC was added, as far as I know.

And yeah, the game's fine.

I always assumed 'console port' as a term had mutated into slang for a poorly optimzied PC game that came out on consoles first.

Having just finished the game (which was better than I expected!),

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Now, if only Relic could get PS3 multiplayer working...

EDIT: This game really got me on a 40k mood again. I've been kind of tired of 40k for a while, but now I've finally started reading that Horus Heresy book I bought months ago, have made plans with my friends to play tabletop some day and would like to start a 40k forum game.

Shame my computer is too messed up to run DoW 2 properly right now, I wanna try that as well.

I'm glad to hear this was pretty well done. Perhaps in the future I'll give it a try.

If anyone else made the mistake of getting this on the PS3, private games are still supposed to work, so feel free to give me your PSN names. I'm getting so desperate I cheated myself to level 4, alone in a private match in the capture-and-hold gamemode just so I could see the Customizer. >_>

EDIT: Hey now it works!

I'm also getting back into a 40k funk from this.  I even started a Deathwatch campaign but it's looking like it might not get any interest.
