pressure plates and freezing
« on: November 28, 2007, 09:54:00 pm »

My dwarves labored long and hard to build the semblance of a dwarven computer.  They failed utterly on a number of fronts (including poor planning by me).  The incident that finally made me abandon however was a strange bug that instantly deconstructed ALL of my pressure plates.  I had four linked up at the time, and I was severely annoyed when the winter freeze came and disabled the fluid portion of my beautiful machine.  I had realized earlier that one of my plates had been set up wrong, though, so I set to work making a path to replace it.

Those are the circumstances.  By the time I was ready to order the plate to be deconstructed, I noticed that it already was.  All the mechanisms to account for the various linkages were still there.  I then checked my other pressure plates to discover the same thing.

I'm using release 33c on windows XP sp2.  The fort was in a mountain/forest biome in a random seed world.  I don't have a save backup.
