So, this evening, I decided I had to host a roleplaying session. And that I had to do it tonight.
Given the short time scale, I knew there was nothing epic I could come up with that quickly. That's when I realised, my computer could come up with a story for me in a few seconds, and that I had just the program for the job.
Thusly, I started up DF and generated a world I felt would provide the best legends.
(I'd just like to note that if you guys feel this is in the wrong forum, just say and if there's a consensus I'll move it.)
(Oh, and the fact I can't go into certain details as the players participating may read this - I don't want to spoil anything for them.)
The world of Anethaathira has just seen the passing of it's 99th year past the dark ages. For the past century this world has been besieged by fearsome creatures such as Uso Spishabthedle Tamun Osplek, the Bronze Colossus and Lecit Anlarjuwog Lenge Setrub, the Hydra. Civilization has always struggled with such fearsome beasts always on the prowl, but the people scratch their living where they can.
As for our story, we follow the so far brief footsteps of four prisoners held in a small, mysterious dungeon like prison. And they're about to get a grim introduction into what the new century has in store for them.
Well, firstly there's Flukukushlulgris (a Kobold) then Stozu Ngasmástozu (a Goblin) finally Geshud Rálukmosus and Vucar Edtúlthíkut (both Dwarves). As for why we're following these four, well, hopefully I'm about to provide what will be a tantalizing taster into just why they're about to suddenly become the most important quartet in all of Anethaathira.
Now as I post the log of our actual session, please remember all of this has been worked up on the fly, there is no preplanning involved here what so ever. (Also, my messages as Keshan, are, obviously, the game master's POV.)

23:13 - Keshan: While, you have all awoken in a dungeon, at this point, you cannot see eachother. You can hear other people in the dungeon however. They must be close.
23:17 - Geshud places his hands warily on the door, pushing on it.
23:17 - Fluku senced the bearthing of others nearby, she didn't know how she got wherever this is, but she slowed her breath and lied still. She intented to get a better judge of just exactly who she was in the dark with
23:21 - Geshud tries pushing harder on his door, leaning against it with his full body weight.
23:21 - Stozu rubbed his head and frowned deeply, looking around. His last few days were a complete blur, he couldn't remember anything of it. He was annoyed and grumpy as he peered around his cell nervously, trying to make out things around him.
23:21 - Keshan: Geshuds as of yet unintroduced character gets nowhere with his door, it's jammed shut.
23:22 - Vucar wakes to find himself in a cell. He kicks the lock to try and open in
23:23 - Geshud gives the door an angry stare, trying to locate some form of weak point which he can exploit to force it open.
23:23 - Fluku sastified in the fact that she's alone in her own cell. Fluku examines the cell, ignoreing the large cell down and inspecting the cornons of the room from any structual weekness
23:24 - Keshan: While the dwarves haven't had much luck with their doors, the Kobold notices one of the bars in her cell's door has almost rusted away completely. It's even split in one section.
23:25 - Geshud shrugs to himself and decides to search around his room for any items.
23:28 - Keshan: Geshud is in luck, and finds himself a pigtail fibre sock.
23:29 - Fluku Smiled to herself and thanked whatever string of fate lead her to be in this cell. It was the pefect size for a kobold like her. She moved to break off the rusted bars as silently as possible. Fluku was pretty sure whoever put her here left long ago, but still better safe then sorry
23:30 - Keshan: Fluku is indeed better safe than sorry as the bar breaks away with the softest of crumbles. The gap is wide enough for her to squeeze through now, and leads into a corridor with other cells doors around.
23:32 - Geshud looks at the sock recognising it as a formidable item, thanking his many years of practicing with many different types of unorthodox weapon.
23:33 - Geshud looks around the room for any small stones or loose pebbles.
23:34 - Vucar began to bang on the door of the cell. "Somebody get me out of this damn thing!"
23:35 - Fluku leans up as close as she can to the her cell door, looking up and down the corridor to get a good look around before making her way out
23:41 - Keshan: Fluku can see three cell door, two appear solide plate, and have bolts locking them but the one across from her is also a bar slat door. The other side of that is a rather fearsome looking goblin. One way down the coridoor ends in a brick wall, the other has another bar door, stronger this time, but with a very visible keyhole in it, unlike these ones.
23:43 - Geshud is still looking for sock-fillers.
23:43 - Keshan: And so, Geshud finds a loose brick in the corner of his cell.
23:44 - Geshud forces the brick into the sock, creating the sock-flail.
23:44 - Keshan: The brick fits nicely and is a heafty weight on the end of the sock.
23:46 - Geshud starts to spin the sock around deftly, ready to brain anyone who may enter his cell.
23:46 - Stozu is still feeling a bit blurry and weird as he finally stood up, not finding anything of importance in his immediate vicinity. His vision was slowly coming back to normal as he slowly stumbled towards the doors, he examined them closely.
23:47 - Fluku silently walked over to examie the keyhole lock, and see if it was pickible
23:47 - Vucar gives up on the door and begins to search the cell for something he could pry the door with
23:48 - Keshan: The lock just looks like a dark hole in the bolt section of the door.
23:49 - Keshan: Stozu's door was bolted from the outside, and thusly was unpickable to him.
23:49 - Geshud decides the time for waiting is over and starts to wail on his door with his sock-flail.
23:50 - Keshan: Vucar doesn't find anything to pry the door open with, but there seems to be something written in a foreign language on the wall.
23:51 - Fluku sighed, the others of her kind told her she should learn advanced lockpicking, but noooo... Fluku was to good for that. She hears the loud banging and jumps, forgeting any notion of steal she quickly flees back to her cell hoping the goblin outside wouldn't come in
23:51 - Keshan: Everyone hears a loud crash as the brick hits the door, it dents the door, but naught much else.
23:52 - Keshan: (I mean, a serious dent, not just a small one.)
23:53 - Stozu noticed the door was unmovable and he grunted, banging at the door a couple of times to no avail. "**** this ****..." He grunts, looking around for something else that could help him.
23:53 - Geshud glares at the door. "A mighty foe you are door, but you shall not best THIS Rálukmosus." He starts to search his cell for more items to create pseudo-weapons with.
23:53 - Keshan: Fluku is most likely startled by Stozu's sudden outburst of profanity.
23:54 - Keshan: Geshud finds naught much else but a clay bowl.
23:55 - Geshud does the obvious thing and places the bowl onto his head. He then lowers his stance and runs at the door headfirst!
23:56 - Keshan: The bowl was pretty tame, and splits dead in two as it strikes the door. Probably shoddy craftsdwarvesmanship.
23:57 - Geshud shakes the remnants of the bowl off his head and goes back to wailing powerfully on the door with his flail.
23:58 - Vucar quickly gives up on the strange writing. It's too dark to read properly. He hears banging coming from outside the room, so he proceeds to drop kick the door
23:59 - Fluku calms herself, a bit more used to the rymtch beating of the nearby door. walking closer to the entraped goblin
23:59 - Keshan: Vucar's door doesn't budge, it's really locked down.

00:00 - Geshud starts to utter a low guttural roar as he wails on his door, slowly growing louder and louder as he smashes into the door more furiously.
00:01 - Fluku was startled by the goblins rough actions, but kept calm as she spoke "Hey.... Hey, green skin. You want out?"
00:03 - Keshan: Stozu may have noticed a few thin slivers of bone sticking out from the thin hay covering the cold stone floor.
00:06 - Stozu crawled towards the hay, peering at the bone slivers sticking out of it and pulling onto them slowly when he heard the kobold speak. He turned around suddenly and peered closely at the kobold outside. He pounced towards the door, crawling onto it to look through the little window. "Let me out of here!"
00:07 - Keshan: Apon inspection - which Stozu doesn't seem to have bothered with - the bone pieces look perfect for lock picking. Be it by luck or craftsmanship, it's slightly unclear.
00:09 - Fluku backed up as he arpoched, careful to not leave herself in a vurnable postion "Woah there big guy.... before I even agree to anything, I gota know I'm getting a good end of this deal. I don't break out others for free."
00:11 - Stozu "So you want to barter about my freedom? Eh?" He snorted. "Well, as a matter of fact I do have a couple of gold pieces at home, should I be able to get out of this cell." He nodded at the kobold.
00:11 - Vucar picks himself up off the ground. Hearing muffled voices outside the cell, he begins to rage, punching the door repeatedly screaming "Get me out of this thing!"
00:12 - Geshud is still roaring as he smashes his door lock with his sock-flail.
00:13 - Keshan: From one of the barred up solid door cells, a dwarven cry for help is heard. The other seems to be bending from the force of the smashes from an as of yet unseen force.
00:15 - Fluku "Sound slike a good deal to me, Now lets see about that do-" She was inteurupted by the loud nosies made by the other two imates, she moved over and hissed. If her luck was crappy, and it should be considering where she's at now. Those two would be dwarfs loud, angry, bloodthirthy dwarfs. Pinching her foarhead she examied
00:15 - Fluku: /med Stozu's cell, hoping it to be as easy as excaping hers
00:17 - Keshan: Stozu's cell is simply bolted shut, from the outside it should be fairly easy to open.
00:18 - Stozu peered through the opening. "Any luck yet?!"
00:19 - Fluku was taken aback from her good luck, maybe it was two more goblins in the other cells, she unbolted the door allowing it to swing open "Plenty"
00:19 - Keshan: Dust starts to fall away from the part of the wall holding the top bolt of Geshud's door. It seems it won't last too long.
00:22 - Stozu rubbed his dried up hands, grinning wickedly. "Great." He shuffled out of the cell quickly and eyed the kobold closely. "A kobold eh?" He snrked to himself, moving over to the other two cells. "Wonder what's in these. Sounds like a crazed golem."
00:23 - Fluku runs to the injured door, "What the hell are you thinking! Kepp it down do you want them to here!?"
00:23 - Stozu then tapped onto the doors that are NOT currently shaking from the banging inside.
00:24 - Geshud pauses for a moment before shouting back. "Who's there!? Let me out! I'll teach you to trap a dwarf you coward!"
00:26 - Fluku "Name's nto inportant just shut up and stop making noise! You're gona aler the guards you mudflap!"
00:27 - Geshud grunts. "I can take 'em! Now GET ME OUT OF HERE"
00:28 - Vucar hears voices close to his cell so he begins banging harder to make more noise
00:29 - Stozu "Fine, stay in there you crazy bastard. Even if I could open it I wouldn't after this." Stozu yelled back at the damn dwarf.
00:29 - Geshud feels egg'd on by his neighbours noise and starts to smash on his door again.
00:30 - Fluku "I Said stop it! I'll get you out but first you got to promise me something!"
00:31 - Geshud ignores the plead, noticing faint cracks in the wall around his door.
00:34 - Stozu turns around and stares at the door, peering at the cracks in the wall. "This ain't gonna turn out well."
00:34 - Geshud gives the door one mighty kick before readying himself to jump upon whomever may be outside.
00:37 - Stozu plucks the kobold from in front of the door by his collar, pulling her back.
00:39 - Keshan: The door caves open with a mighty smash, it flies off it's hinges, slicing side long into the door oppacite, before bouncing off down the corridor away from the Kobold and Goblin. Vucar's door is now buckled inwards.
00:39 - Geshud jumps out of the room with a mighty leap, trying to see who is outside in the darkness.
00:40 - Geshud "Now which one of you cowards stuck me in there!?"
00:41 - Fluku gasps at the action of the doors, huffs at the goblin the pulled her away, srhuging him off before adressing the new face "I didn't, but I can help you find out. Just call me mistress and follow my orders"
00:41 - Stozu "It was most certainly me, and then I'd lock myself up afterwards. Just as stupid as any other dwarf, I see." Stozu snorted derisivly, putting the kobold back to the ground.
00:41 - Vucar heard a loud crashing from outside the cell. Reinvigorated, he backs up to the cell well and begins to charge head first into the door
00:41 - Geshud glares at the small kobold. "I'll call you Kobold and you will live with it."
00:42 - Geshud notices the goblin behind her. "YOU! You locked me in there didn't you! Your kind are ALWAYS kidnapping mine!"
00:42 - Geshud turns and looks at the door. "What've you got in there!?"
00:43 - Fluku steeps inbtween Geshud and vucar "Stop it, the gob's a prsionor just like us."
00:44 - Fluku Stares at the dented door "I think you're friends in there... sounded loud enough to be one of you subteraion brutes"
00:44 - Stozu "Why yes, it has to be me..." He replied, muttering to himself. "Stupid dorf." Stozu peered to each side of the corridor. "Well I'm going to find an exit, you do whatever you want."
00:44 - Geshud snorts. "Prove it. Let whatever's in there out."
00:45 - Keshan: Assuming Stozu turns around, just past his cell is the only way out - barred by another door. This one has a large, dark keyhole by the lock.
00:47 - Geshud watches the goblin expectantly.
00:48 - Stozu walks over towards the other door slowly, inspecting them. "Shut the hell up, dorf."
00:49 - Fluku gives up and walks past the dwarf to inspect the dented door, looking for a way to get this one off
00:49 - Geshud laughs whole-heartedly at the goblin, wiping tears of mirth from his face.
00:49 - Geshud "Just open the bloody door you ugly little runt."
00:50 - Keshan: The door holding back Vucar is locked by another couple of external latches. One near the floor, and the other is just out of Fluku's reach.
00:51 - Fluku undose the bottom latch, hoping the door isn't to dented to be opened
00:52 - Keshan: The bottom latch opens fine, the top latch had broken away from the force of the other door hitting it anyway.
00:53 - Geshud peers at the door, waiting for the occupant to come out.
00:53 - Vucar hears the door being unlatched. He backs up and charges the door, aiming to take whoever's outside by surprise
00:53 - Stozu Stozo scoffs at Geshud. "Oh shut the hell up you damn dirty underground ape. I don't have any tools to open this up."
00:55 - Geshud hears the quick footsteps and jumps out of the way.
00:56 - Fluku started to pull open the door
00:58 - Keshan: The door is yet another one of those bar doors, it probably wouldn't stand quite as much bashing this time.
01:02 - Vucar kicks open the door to his cell, charging at Fluku. "Where the hell have to taken me?!"
01:02 - Fluku jupms back in surprise "Dammit what's with you guys thinking I did this!?"
01:03 - Geshud laughs at the sudden appearance of one of his brethren.
01:04 - Stozu yells back from the corridor. "Which part of the 'stupid dirty underground apes' did you not get, kobold? They're dwarves."
01:10 - Geshud ignores the goblin as he extends a friendly, non-sock wielding hand to the dwarf.
01:11 - Fluku "Sorry, I kinda was hoping to get some help, maybe we should have left them in there...." she moves closer to the goblin, her only seeming ally in this situation
01:14 - Stozu snapped back. "Well better make yourself useful and find me something to pick this with before they bludgeon us to death with that ... brick in a cloth thing." He was annoyed to be in this mess to begin with.
01:14 - Geshud is still waiting for his handshake
01:16 - Vucar sneers at Stozu. "Oh good, another kobold is it? One of you scumbags was enough." Turning to Geshud he extended his hand. "Now there's a friendly face. What's with the sock?"
01:17 - Geshud shows the brick inside. "That banging you heard earlier? All this dwarf."
01:19 - Fluku Glares at Vucar "I aint all to pleased with you bloodthirsty savages being here either. I bet we're in one of your underground cities or something stupid like that!"
01:19 - Vucar laughs and claps Geshud on the back. He glances at the kobold. "How much damage do you think that thing would do on something living?"
01:20 - Geshud snorts at the kobold. "This ain't any city of ours...infact..where are we?"
01:22 - Fluku "Is that a threat rock eater? And no, I have no idea where we are, I just know that" points to a locked door "is the way out"
01:22 - Stozu yells from the door, he has by now moved around to try to find something to pick the lock. "We're in a ****ing dungeon, where do you think we are you stupid dorf." He then remembered those bones and rushed back to his cell to retrieve them.
01:24 - Geshud laughs. "You're a brave one for being so brash when you're locked in a very small dungeon with two very strong dwarves Goblin. But I reckon I'll let you live if you get us out of this ugly place."
01:26 - Stozu laughs after he returns with the bones, examining them closely. "Oh no no no, dwarf. You're mistaken. I'm letting -myself- out of this ugly place... and maybe the kobold, but only because she let me out. You loud bastards can stay right here." He smiled widely as he found a good enough bone to fit the lock, placing the rest into a pocket on his shabby robes.
01:27 - Vucar snarls as he sees the goblin cross the room. "A goblin? That's worse than being stuck with 2 kobolds!" With that, he begins searching the corridor for something that could be used as a weapon
01:28 - Fluku smirks at the thought, the two dirty dwarfs would rot here. Of corse she didn't voice such things as one was within hiting distiance
01:28 - Geshud 's mirth-filled face suddenly turns to one of pure rage. He starts to advance on the Goblin, quickly throwing his sock-flail to Vucar while trying to pick up the steel door.
01:29 - Fluku backs up agaisnt a nearby wall, doing her best to look small and unoticeable. Keeping her eyes on Geshud
01:29 - Stozu attempts to pick the lock with the bone, hopefully he's about to get a reply from the gm sometime soon.
01:31 - Keshan: Stozu does indeed manage to pick the lock. Geshud on the other hand, receives no such luck and fails to pick up the door.
01:31 - Geshud tries to push the door along the floor towards the goblin with his foot.
01:31 - Stozu exclaims. "A-ha! Now we're in business." He snickered as he slipped past the doors as quickly and quietly, hoping the dwarves wouldn't be of the same luck.
01:32 - Vucar "Boy, I sure have been searching for a long" he thought to himself
01:32 - Keshan: The door moves as Geshud slides it across the floor. Not a quiet thing to say the least.
01:33 - Keshan: The door has only moved a few feet.
01:33 - Fluku quick;y rushes past the door opend by stozu
01:33 - Geshud charges at the door, throwing all of his weight behind his rush.
01:33 - Geshud "Oh no you don't you slippery little bastard!"
01:34 - Keshan: Geshud hits Fluku on his charge to the door, the door is knocked open with a bang as they both tumble through.
01:34 - Stozu cackles and slams the door shut after the kobold, trying to lock it again.
01:35 - Vucar hears Geshund yelling behind him. Seeing the kobold and the goblin trying to shut the door he charged the door full force
01:35 - Stozu however doesn't seem to have much luck with it against the dirty underground dirt eating **** stained brute.
01:38 - Fluku inbtween her small body resiting and the larger burte pushin Fluku was unforntqaly thrown to the other side of the new corridor
01:38 - Geshud blinks, trying to get his head around his position as he notices Vucar running straight at him.
01:39 - Keshan: Fluku is indeed catapaulted across the corridor, and she recieves some minor bruses. Thankfully being small and light, the fall wasn't too harsh on her. Geshud lands with a thud, past the threshold of the door, giving Vucar plenty of time to slow down.
01:41 - Stozu rolls his eyes and slowly walks along the way, picking the kobold to her feet as he passes by. "Well, you two can keep rolling in the dust as you like it best, I'm going to find my way out."
01:41 - Fluku stis up and rubs her head, a bit dazzed but takes a look around, trying to get a feel for what kind of dungon she was stuck in with the others
01:43 - Geshud shakes his head and pushes himself to his feet, taking an inventory of any potential weaponisables in the room.
01:43 - Keshan: Just around the corner, a wooden door is half open to the outside world, flapping silently in the wind. Just beyond the door, some dirt steps show that the dungeon appears to be only half underground, though what's beyond the entrance isn't visible. It's nighttime outside, yet there is some light coming from the surrounding areas.
01:44 - Keshan: This area was probably the jailers room. There's naught here but wooden chair and footlocker.
01:45 - Geshud picks up the chair.
01:45 - Fluku gives a silent stoping motion to Stozu, and moves right behind the ajared wodden door listing for any sounds
01:46 - Geshud whispers into Vucar's ear, trying to remain quiet enough so that the others dont hear him.
01:46 - Keshan: Fluku hears footsteps, something bigger than she is, but whatever it is, it's alone as it quietly rustles the grass.
01:46 - Vucar sees Fluku signalling to Stozu. "What do you think you're doing?" he shouts
01:46 - Geshud "Okay. Personally I don't think these two ugly little runts know what they're doing. We should run in there, as loud as we can, as fast as we can, and beat the living stone out of whatever is in there."
01:47 - Geshud "I mean, we've got our weapons, what other option is there?"
01:48 - Stozu grabs the kobold by the collar again. "Alright, I think it's best if we step out of the way and hide while the brutes make a ruckus as usual and get beaten to death." He moves back into a darker corner.
01:48 - Vucar smiled, taking the brick-flail out of his pocket. "I like the way you think"
01:48 - Fluku blanchs as she hear Vucar shout at her
01:49 - Fluku is pulled back and sighs, looking around the room for any useful tools, or at least something sharp
01:49 - Keshan: The only instantly aparent thing in the room is the foot locker.
01:50 - Fluku tries to open the foot locker
01:50 - Geshud nods at Vucar. "THREE! TWO! ONE! CHAAAAARGE!"
01:50 - Geshud raises his chair above his head and charges at the door.
01:51 - Vucar spins the brick-flail and runs after Geshud
01:51 - Stozu just covers his face with his palm, sighing deeply.
01:51 - Keshan: The foot locker opens with ease. It's empty. However, it's in a pretty bad shape. The hinge could easily be pulled off into a make shift blade, and there are a few struts of wood that could be used as vaguely decent clubs.
01:53 - Stozu keeps to his dark courner, paying close attention to what was going on.
01:53 - Fluku tries her best to rip of the hindges of the locker
01:54 - Keshan: The hinge comes away easily as Fluku pulls at it. Geshud and Vulcar continue their charge at the door, I presume.
01:55 - Geshud lets out a guttural roar as he kicks at the door mid-charge.
01:57 - Keshan: The door goes flying. It was half rotten anyway and snaps in two litterally mid flight, the soft wood continues it's arch down to the ground as Geshud rushes through the door, startling the panther that had just taken to sitting on the roof of the small prison block. It leaps at him, claws first.
01:58 - Vucar sees the panther going for Geshud and aims the brick flail for the panther's head
01:58 - Fluku Breaks the rest of the foort locker into wodden planks, makeshift clubs at best, she then grabed the wood with the hidge still atacked, sastified with at least some form of defenses
02:00 - Stozu crawls over to the crate, grabbing a plank. Moments after they had charged the door he doesn't even ****ing say anything, he just stares widely at the panther ready to make a run for it after the stupid apes are ripped into tiny little pieces.
02:03 - Fluku follows Stozu again, sneaking quietly towards the open exit.
02:04 - Keshan: Vucar's attack hits the beast's stomach, slightly winding it, recovering from the blow it turns, sending it's claws at Vucar.
02:04 - Vucar stops suddenly as the panther lands. "Heads up!" he called to Geshud, readying for brick flail for the panther's attack
02:05 - Geshud turns around quickly, swinging his chair blindly as he goes. "Holy ****!"
02:08 - Keshan: The chair hits the Panther squarely on the hip, and breaks. The Panther yelps and flees. The remainder of the chair is just the two longer back legs and the backrest connecting them. If broken precicely, it would form two good weapons.
02:09 - Geshud blinks, trying to get his head around the events that just transpired.
02:10 - Stozu sighs. "You two idiots are going to get us all killed."
02:11 - Geshud "I doubt you'll do much dying when you're crying in your hidey hole."
02:11 - Vucar turned. "You say that like you getting killed would be a bad thing."
02:11 - Geshud nods at Vucar. "Thanks for the save brother."
02:13 - Keshan: Outside, now, it's just become visible in between the darkness, embers still illuminate the charred ruins of an elven forest city.
Hopefully, soon, we should have a second part to this epic tale.
