Hello i'm new to the forums and just downloaded the game after seeing how fun it looked(read boatmurdered, funny stuff). after i click on the icon to start up the game and wait a little i get a

"dwarfort.exe has encoutered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

That message came up with the send microsoft a damage report thing came up but gave me no information so I have no clue what the problem is. I have re-downloaded the game a few times now and currently have the smaller no music version downloaded. If it helps i downloaded the game to a seperate drive cause my parents would delete it of the computer any.Also a windows user. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried re-downloading the game for a separate mirror?

downloaded and re-downloaded all at least twice. When i look at the technical information it gives me stuff about locals and temp stuff.sorta like

"C:documents and settings\(my name)\local settings\temp\ then some random numbers and letters like 812b or something _appcompat.txt

i know the _appcompat.txt wont really help me but what can i do about the local and temp stuff.
