Apt repository for Debian/Ubuntu/Mint/etc
« on: September 07, 2011, 11:56:01 am »

I threw together some quick and dirty binary-only debs that ought to work on most any Debian-derived distro.  Maybe.

- Dwarf Fortress.
- Mayday tileset.
- Phoebus tileset.
- Nemoder's build of Therapist from DFFD.  Seems to work ok, but you probably want to use the therapist from the real therapist repos instead (I derped when I realized, soon after packaging this, that they supply their own debs...).
- Nemoder's build of StoneSense from DFFD.  I can't get StoneSense to compile myself, and this one likes to hang when you try to start it and likes to hang DF when you exit.  Handle with care.  Is there a more bugfixed build (or even better, up to date and maintained debs) of this somewhere??

Default tileset (or lack thereof) is controlled via update-alternatives --configure dwarffortress
Menu entries should appear in the Debian menu system
Your saved games should magically switch between tilesets and package updates without you having to do anything.

To use, add to your sources.list -> deb http://www.adamsoncomputing.com/dwarffortress binary/
(And hope that my web server isn't being slow.)

Bug: Changes that you make to your ~/.dwarffortress init.txt and d_init.txt will be clobbered every time you start the game.  Instead, su and edit /usr/games/DF/data/init/whatever.

Please let me know if there are any packaging, dependency, or related problems with these, though I can't promise timely updates. ;P  They work for me on Xubuntu 10.04, anyway.
