I see's no evil: Cthulu saves the world
« on: July 15, 2011, 06:35:00 pm »

This is a lowfi retro RPG (NESesc) rpg where you play the mighty Cthulu, who has risen from his slumper to destory the world only to
first have to save it due to unfortunate circumstances.

its only $3, or £2 on steam and gamersgate, and it comes with another free game.
Ive spent about 4 hours killing monsters and watching Cthulu smirk at their demise and the other party members and can say
its the best 4 hours of entertainment i've had for effectively £1.

anyone else playing this? Thoughts..

Yes, someone else!

I didn't like Breath of Death as much as this one. This one has more polish and plays like a "real" JRPG. It's also very hard not to die without being good at the game.

Seconding the best ~$1 I've ever spent.

I bought it, but probably won't get around to playing it for a while.

I like it, but I'm not entirely a fan of the way combat works; healing to full after every battle and buffing the enemy 10% per turn is a bit... odd.

Actually, you don't heal to full after every battle. You only get a little mana back on average, and next to none if you don't finish quick. And for tougher battles high-mana skills can be make-or-break.

I got the deal on steam, and have 9 hours from CSTW so far, and less from BOD. But for Like, £1 or so for both it was amazing value for moneys.

I prefer Cthulu, again for the polish and also for Cthulu's angels. The music is awesomesauce in both...

(Did anyone else only find the swamp dungeon when only after finding the dragon? I'd curse myself for not exploring but I was laughing too much.)

P.S They're cool at Zeboyd. They posted the source info for Molly the Werezompire for free so's it can be run on PC (maybe) if you remove or replace the music files (and maybe you have to do other stuff, I don't know). Except then I saw all the strings and got confused so now I think i'll finish BOD before I try to do stuff again.

PP.S Sorry for Necroing something, I just searched with the bar and this is the first one I found.
