Windmills seem to freeze if the temperature drops below zero.  This really shouldn't happen.  e.e

Not a bug. It's normal.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Watermills make sense freezing, but why should a windmill be affected by the temperature of the air blowing it?  Unless they get clogged up with ice from an ice storm or something, windmills should keep working even on the coldest nights.

I don't see why windmills would freeze unless there was a severe snowstorm or similar event- that said, there are only two outdoor temperatures in DF, 'thaw', and 'freeze river solid'...

Is the windmill hooked up to a screw pump that has frozen? I'm pretty sure they don't supply enough power to keep a screw pump turning through solid ice, so they can't turn anymore.

The windmill was hooked to two or three vertical axles and a gear.  I hadn't gotten any further than that.  Also, the gear and the axles said "frozen elsewhere" while the windmill said "frozen here".

Maybe the mechanism in the windmill is broken (eg 'frozen')?
