On this day, in the year 251 of the Age of Myth, a bitterly cold, starving and bone-tired group of bedraggled gnoll refugees arrive on the edge of the Blizzard of Splitting, driven by relentless human assaults from their home of Gebarrigoth. At their heels come bands of raiders and ravagers from the Legendary Realms, intent on wiping out the gnollish people and ending their periodic rampages for good.
Their rations completely gone and their backs to the harsh, icy northern wall, the survivors drag out their scavenged tools, grind the rust from the blades, and strike the earth.
In a nutshell: a settlement populated by tribal savages (gnolls) in the middle of a frozen hellhole. They don't farm, they're at war with the humans, and they're slow to pick up new skills, but born with talents that relate to the colour of their fur. Standard one-year-per-turn, with a few guidelines (not mechanically enforced):
- No extensive digging. No underground habitation. Digging a small cistern is fine, digging a full mountain hall is not.
- Build aboveground as much as possible.
- No trap spam. Gnolls are a feral and bloodthirsty bunch who don't hide behind six dozen cage traps.
- No farming. Food is hunted, traded or fished.
