Are dead relationships being cleaned up correctly?
« on: March 01, 2008, 12:24:00 pm »

So, I was taking a glance at the relationship screen, and noticed that there is absolutley no distinction between a dwarf's friend/son/lover/wife/husband who is dead, and who is alive. Maybe some sort of flag would be useful? If a spouse/lover dies, will a dwarf ever move on to another one, or is that one slot being filled the end of it?

I think, for now at least, if a spouse dies the dwarf will never take another.

Awww, how sweet.

I wonder if they still sleep with the body.

I made this suggestion several days ago: http://www.bay12games.com/cgi-local/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=5&t=002786

One of my married engravers was burnt up in some magma, so in the relationship menu his name is flashing red and orange. The wife is still happy though, and she gave birth a year later oddly enough.

My widows tend to be ecstatic.  I don't think dwarves choose spouses very well.

Yeah, same here, all my widows are ecstatic, I believe it's the dining rooms really... Darn their legendaryness making my dwarves feel no emotions.

I'm never going to look at my dining room the same way again, benoit. x_x

Hi!

Yes, wives don't seem to miss their husbands that much (neither do lovers). I mentioned it before: Husband dead - happy/ecstatic; lover dead - happy/ecstatic; pet cat dead - unhappy/tantrum/miscarriage.

I guess the dwarves have their priorities right :) :) :) :)

The dining room?  Hell, what are you going to think of the "casino", with the row of levers that have the "pull lever" task on repeat, for use by low-income dwarves only?
