I'm looking to set up a catalog for forum game ideas, not actual, active or dead games, but just ideas, waiting to be typed onto a computer.  What's the point of this?  Well, if you had an awesome game idea, but lacked the time or the interest to do it, you can post it here, and type this:

Usable: Anyone

You can also label it as this:

Usable: Permission Given GMs

This means a forum goer must ask permission before playing it.  But if you already had someone in mind to give the permission to, use:

Usable: *Insert Forum Name Here*

Here's an example. 

Forum Game Idea Name ( or FGIN, for short ): Example game
Rules: Example game rules are *insert various rules here* ( You can elaborate in later posts, just make it clear )
Game type: Example Game is an RTD ( It can be a suggestion game, RTD, mafia game, or something else entirely, just make sure you specify and elaborate )
Other:
Usable: Permission Given GMs

Any miscellaneous information can be added in the "Other" section. 

My goal is to see just how many good ideas are out there, to encourage more people to GM games, and to see if there is any interest in a particular idea.  This could all just blow up in a puff of smoke, but I'm willing to give it a try.

I could spend the rest of my life typing out thousands of ideas into a thread like this non-stop. However, that'd be pointless because there are always more ideas to go around than there are people willing to GM.  None of the ideas posted in these kinds of threads are actually ever used, not even the ones much better than the ones people actually make, because people mainly want to run their own ideas.

Now, I could be wrong and there is someone that want to run a game but don't have any ideas. In that case, I'd recommend them to just PM me with some wish-list of preferences or previous favourite games and I'll custom design something that fits them much better than any pre-made package and is in general much better.

I don't think that's right - every successful game spawns half a dozen (usually short-lived) copycat games and alternative versions for waiting-listers. This is a bit different, but I don't see why it couldn't work.

At the very least, I'd enjoy hearing other people's game ideas/sharing my own.
