Last I played DF was when I was starting a Fallout-style vault a couple weeks ago. Kinda in-and-out playing of it. Getting a bit of a story as I update the map on DFMA.

I'm especially waiting for the recent release to begin works on my successor megaproject which involves building a much larger airship. More complex, more exploits for the newer job classes and materials and etc., and overall better design. With my current experience level, I should also be able to get more of the work done much quicker, and because of that I might also turn it into a community project fort. I already have separate threads in mind. One for the project in general, and another to follow up on the progress so other community members can put in their story/comments as it forms, and even participate in telling me what else to focus on. I'm also waiting for the newer version so I can illustrate some backstory and such as to why the new ship would be worked on.

Used to play DF, still like LCS, but I might get back into DF when adventure mode gets more stuff.

Ya, I guess most people are sick of the ol' magma jokes and are waiting for .26 to get released.

Word.  I've seen every trick the game as is has to offer, and I've run out of patience for modding.  I've also run out of patience for a lot of the old jokes, although I bitterly cling to the ones that were great in my day (Never Forget the Mermaid Farm).  I suspect the next version will be very enticing, because it'll include lots of new random stuff to make each new game an unpredictable experience, along with improving Adventure Mode.

Glory to the Baron.

I'm not playing at the moment, as my personal and internet computers aren't one and the same anymore, but once I get back to my room, I'll be firing up my copy of .24 and continuing my fort there (80 regions generated to find a spot I liked, and it isn't as good as I'd've liked). I really haven't played nearly as much with the new features as I'd like to, so I'm digging down for all kinds of fun this round.

I don't really laugh at anything pertaining to magma, and cat jokes are the usual reason why I stop posting for some a few weeks.

As for LCS, I tend to lose interest around the recruitment phase, when I've spent 20 minutes in one turn at a location trying to find the job I want.

^ This = Problem / Game Killer

This has been discussed though - my copy, for example, runs with a few patches that cause tables and such not to despawn, making it possible to find people way faster. Another one is the wait button and whether it should always generate a suitable encounter.

I've never spent 20 minutes trying to find a job I want even in stock versions, though.

"Something something magma cats nobles something" is pretty much all that the upper forums say about it.

I've not really touched it much since 40d.
