Can GCS breed?

Nope. No baby GCS's afaik.

But lots of silk. Just think of silk as their babies. Precious, stylish babies. Dyable babies. Babies that let you cage other stuff. Quite cool babies really........

Change the [PET_EXOTIC] token to [PET], give them [CHILD:1], give them the egg material body detail plan, and copy the egg laying stuff from the chicken to the female GCS caste.

that gives me an idea....  i wonder if it'd be possible to have normal cave spiders eventually grow to GCS.....  to the modcave robin!

You can't have vermin turn into large creatures.

Although that isn't possible, at one point a user on these forums reported that they got a vermin-class FB. I sort or lost the thread, and I don't think there were ever screenshots taken (therefore: it didn't happen), but if it was a random whackiness of DF then with modding you should be able to:

Have some freaking huge, teleporting, vermin-class animals.
Trap and tame such animals.
Have dwarves adopt these animals as pets.
Have shoulder-mounted, GCS web shooters attached to your dwarves.
Kill a shiteload of cats.

Imagine vermin-class deadly dust, spittle or firey breath FBs.... Or pseudo-GCS's. Or just shoulder (or pant pocket) mounted cannons. Yes, Urist is happy to see you. If you do it, screenshots please.

I'll jump off my phone and onto my PC tomorrow and see if I can find the thread.
