Bug with embedded arrows
« on: August 03, 2007, 06:04:00 am »

I picked up a stack of 26 arrows with my hand, then attacked a kobold. For some reason the character decided to use the 26 arrows as a stabbing weapon. The thing is ALL 26 arrows stuck in the wound...

I doubt this should be the case...

That must have looked bad ass, though. You see this Dwarf walking along, and a kobold jumps out... And then BAM, a flurry of movement and the Dwarf-fu strikes, impaling the kobold on a wall of stabbed arrows.

Did the combat log read like this?

You stab the kobold in the upper left leg!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced badly!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced badly!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced badly!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
It is pierced!
The kobold gives into pain.

If it read like that, it would almost make sense and be the most broken combat technique ever discovered..  If that's no the case, though, it doesn't change that it's hilarious.

Edit: Put too many pierce messages; fixed.

Were you holding the arrows in your hand? Because that's what it sounds like happened.

It would also kinda make sense. You're holding a bundle of arrows... you jam the entire bundle into the kobold.

Yes I was, I had just picked them up (they make excellent throwing weapons) and the dwarf decided to use them instead of the nyce big axe.

I doubt you could HOLD 26 arrows in one hand, let alone shove it deep enough to keep them all stuck in.

Combat log was something like this
"You attack the kobold with Bronze Arrows[26] in the leg
It is pierced
The Bronze Arrows[26] has stuck firmly in the wound"

It didn't kill him or anything, but the axe strike that came later did...

The lizardman has bled to death.
***At this point I had Pine arrows [38] in both hands and I mean 76 arrows in total!!!***
You stab The lizardman in the head with your Pine arrows [38]!
It is pierced through entirely!

This bug not only gives you superior weapon, it creates more arrows for some reason...

Yeah, that poor pit bull tried to rassle a porcupine. I bet the poor thing is blind now too. =[

However, without modern science to keep the dog alive, Darwin would have helped keep that dummie from reproducing...
