Dwarves planting the wrong thing

For some reason, even though pig tails are selected for a farm plot, the dwarves are planting plump helmets instead.

If there aren't any pig tail seeds, they'll plant whatever you had selected last (possibly defaulting to plump helmets) As well, it could just be the job running it's course; a dwarf dont change their planting choice until they finish the current planting job.

Oh, ok.  Yeah, I had briefly selected plump helmets first, that makes sense.  Is there any way around that?  I guess it doesn't matter a lot.

That is not how it works. If you change what is being planted it will not overwrite any jobs that are currently active. So if you had it set to plump helmet for a few seconds, then changed to pigtails, any dwarfs that started to collect plump helmet seeds will continue on till they have finished planting.

What is probably happening is you've set it to plant pigtails in a different season. You can change between spring/summer/autumn using A, B and C i think. Make sure you are in the correct season when you select pigtails
