I hope that at some point the ability to have custom kitchen meal types that uses specific types of food stacks gets implemented.  If it does, what kind of meals would you all design?

If this along with plantable and harvestable fruit trees get put in, I know what I'd do:

Dwarven Apple Pie, made from apples, eggs, dwarven wheat flour, and dwarven sugar.

My fort would be renowned for its delicious Dwarven Apple Pies, not just great to eat but also excellent sex toys for men.   Goblins would siege me because they want my pies, and the monarch would eventually want to live there to eat the pies.

Maybe I'll call the fort Applebastion.

one problem - dwarves don't have sex. They simply have spores, that current theory posits comes out of their beards.

Anyways, with custom meals I'd definitely get cake and bread (flour + sugar + eggs + fruit/meat). I'd also like to make some cheese-sauce covered dishes, (cheese + meat + maybe flour).

Currently I'm working on sweets, dough and various complications to the alcohol system for the pony mod, adding brandy/whiskey derivatives and opening up ports, sherries and cocktails. I'm not too sure about custom recipes for actual roasts, I actually like the randomness. Though being able to define meal names based on components would be cool, like if a four item meal starts with flour, eggs and sugar, it's a "fourth item" cake, and if it uses tallow or oil instead of egg, it's a pie or loaf.

That sounds like it'd be a meat filled bread roll covered in syrup.  I'd try it.

(using flora & fauna mod) I have made "pizza" from dw. wheat flour, water buffalo cheese, tomato sauce, and garlic. Aww yeah!
