Steam sale: when does it end?

As title asks, what time does a steam sale end? and is it local time or some US time?

I really want to buy a game, but I dont think I can convince my parents in 24 hours

It tells you right in steam how long you have until it ends.

... normally. I'm assuming you want Brink (I can't imagine why), and for some reason it doesn't seem to be showing the timer.

As far as I know Steam time goes off of Pacific time, which is -8 I think?

I suppose it depends on the sale?

Valve is in Washington state, so most sales are going to be based on Pacific time.
