adventurer storage system
« on: August 08, 2011, 05:39:10 am »

currently an adventurer can carry infinite amount of stuff which is ridiculous. I'd like to see a storage system similar to Cataclysm where you must carry your stuff in your pockets and different items like backpack and messenger bag. Different clothing have different amounts of storage space and different items are of different size.

I apologize if this has been planned already

Item volume isn't really tracked, and though you need a container to store things, you can pretty much store infinite things in your backpack or waterskin until the weight slows you down.   Once item volume is worked in, and containers have to deal with volume and mass, this is pretty much handled.

I've been thinking similar. In a game similar to adventure mode called NetHack, you can carry up to a maximum of 52 items without a container.

DF needs to deal with item volume and containers for certain objects, like a leather sheath for your sword, pockets in your trousers for coins, etc.
