Military NATO wooden/plastic blocks
« on: August 13, 2011, 06:05:14 pm »

I'm doing a 'miniatures' style game, and am looking as to what to use for the units. I have found some fairly cheap models to use (Civil war era) but as I wargame many different eras, having basic NATO symbol infantry and cavalry and arty for two colours would be far better.
The only way I can describe what I want is to say, what they use on 'Time commanders' to show the troops movements.

Does anyone know if you can buy blocks like these? I've had a look and drawn a blank. Thanks!

For anyone whos interested, I'm doing the Confederate west flank of the battle of Shiloh 1862.

You mean unit counters?

Hmmmm... To get generics you might be better off making your own...

1) Print out some old NATO military symbols and cut them apart (rip them from here maybe? http://www.history.army.mil/books/korea/ebb/sym.htm)
2) Cut posterboard into small squares.  Alternatively glue a couple index cards together and cut them into small squares
3) ???
4) Profit
