Oh, THAT lever...
« on: July 26, 2011, 12:22:43 am »

I played Dwarf Fortress for prolonged periods of time several months ago, but have since forgot about its existence. After my base in the dreaded Minecraft blew to hell and back (but mostly just to) I quit and stared blankly at my desktop. After quite a while and when the screen did not blink at me, I noticed a folder in the corner of my screen, DF. I remembered it all instantly and began to play my old fortress with a population of about 500 (300 of them were dead... by my hand I recall...), so about 200 left. I quickly saw a room full of levers. Now which one had I rigged to open the gates to my fortress and which one(s) ended it all. Although I had numerous water locks inside my fortress, none can contend with socks in the doors... I picked the wrong lever. And the next wrong one. And the next wrong one... Now I have my fort's defensive measures, volcano and pressurized tank of water emptying into my fortress... Don't forget that the merchants got in all right. Just took some dwarf genocide to let them in. Which is all right. I guess. Loosing is hilarious.

That didn't last long, huh? Shame, cause binary's cool. Anyway, an important message: I will be changing my names on every username based thing I use to ASCIt on/around 10/1. Consolidating, I guess you could say.

Ah, the thing I love about DF and MC. Playing either of them will eventually give you the trait "doesn't really care about anything anymore."
