This is a joint AAR of my a PBEM game of War in the Pacific between myself and Erkki. I'm the Japanese (and a very big n00b, but that's another issue entirely), and he's the Allies. Instead of the serious type of AAR where we'd be unable to look at eachother's posts for fear of learning information we wouldn't have IC, we're going to go for an over the top, propaganda approach. With that in mind, what we say here may not be 100% accurate, or maybe even outright lies

War!
This morning, December 7th, our glorious forces attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor. Negotations to solve the resource crisis have of course failed, and now we have no choice but to attack and take what is rightfully ours! Early reports place enemy losses at over 65 aircraft, eight battleships, of which three were easily confirmed as being total write offs, and numerous other ships for negligible losses from our own forces. Elsewhere two British capital ships were attacked as well.
This attack was launched by our mighty carrier fleet. Unfortunately we were unable to press our success, but the fleet has departed in search of another worthy target, the enemy carriers! With these ships removed from the Pacific, our forces will have no resistance in sweeping over the resource rich South-East Asian area!
To support these operations, our glorious army has begun marching down the Malay peninsula, rapidly sweeping past any resistance. An invasion of the Philippines has met with similar success. Military analysts estimate that by the end of the month there will be no significant enemy concentrations that will pose a direct threat to the home islands.
