dwarfs won't adopt rutherers

i have an army of rutherers,and they cannot be trained almost all of them are tamed, and available for adoption but nobody wants them,even a cave spider got adopt and it stays making webs everywhere and biting her master.
dwarfs cant adopt big animals or what?

I'm pretty sure dwarves will only adopt animals they like.

Dwarves adopting subteranean animals has been quite rare in my experience. I once had one dwarf that really liked crundles and adopted a dozen or so, I called her the crazy crundle lady. Asides from that I almost never have anyone adopting animals like that except the occasional bat.

goddamit, i had the hope of having rutherers to my dorfs so they could be better protected.

If a dwarf trains an animal in the kennel then that animal will follow said dwarf around until reassigned. Just give them [TRAINABLE_WAR] and use workshop permissions.
