On my newest game, I was running another one dwarf fortress. I started with 600 points invested into this dwarf, and 100 spent on a mining pick. She began as a proficient miner (and mined incredibly fast) who was unbelievably agile and ultra-mighty.

As her skill increased, so did the speed with which she mined... until she made the transition from Great to Master. Now she mines considerably slower, perhaps slower than she did when she was proficient.

Odd.

edit: Never mind. Doh. Looks like she just wanted some alcohol.
