On a related subject I've noticed that dwarves with a give water job refuse to use wells to fill their buckets, regardless of distance or how many dwarves are already at the well. They'll always walk to the river (I'm not sure if they'll use the cave river, I usually dig until I know where it is and seal it off, then get screwed/abandon shortly after). On another side note they never bring alcohol to injured dwarves which further depresses them (and possibly slows recovery time? I've noticed all jobs slow when the dwarf hasn't had enough booze -- is healing affected in the same way?).

Yeah, they don't know about wells yet.  The healing rate is not affected by movement speed.

No, not dying of thirst on a bridge, being about to drink THROUGH the bridge.  The dwarf i had die of thirst got flooded in on a 1x1 square of dirt and spammed "can't find path" messages and he died of thirst despite being surrounded on 7 sides by water (not that he could have gotten to the other sqaure anyway):

He technically wouldn't have died of hunger either as he was a fisher and while technically it has to be prepared first, I think they'd get hungry enough to eat it raw.

An option to set a wounded dwarf to "recover from wounds" would be great, would allow us to give them time off if we can afford to lose them.

I also got a dwarf with a dark grey eye, who passes out constantly. He got overrun by monkeys very early in the game and got a broken nose as well (which healed).

He's really entertaining to watch. He'll take, say, a plant seeds job, go get a seed, pass out, wake up, then decide to move some furniture instead. He'll move the table 10 squares, pass out, go get another seed from the bag, etc. There's stuff littered all over the place from "mentally challenged eye-patch man." He hasn't finished a job in about two years.
