Invisible tamed animals

I captured a monarch butterfly and a lizard with animal traps, then tamed them in kennels. They show up in [z] > animals screen and can be made available as pets, but don't show up on units screen nor can't be found in cage assignment screen.

did you check the traps are they blinking

Oh well, I found full traps in kennels. I guess I have to designate animal stockpile and when the're carried there I'd be able to release the critters?

It's strange that they don't appear in cage assignment if you've tamed them.  If they are available as pets, as soon as they are taken they'll be removed by their owners, but you should be able to cage them before that.
