A thought occured to me. We already have a UK based DFC server, that suites the needs of EU players pretty well, relatively low ping (in the 0-100 region), but our pals over the pond don't have it so good.

So, my suggestion is that we get some interest in a North American based TF2 server for the US Dwarf Fortressers to have fun on with low pings?

I'm only going to put myself forward for managing it if no-one else wants to. But I'd rather some whose awake/knows more about server admin stuff than I do.

And, if we rent from the same people as we do the DFC server currently we can get commission and shit for it. So I'd be able to donate for the US server if it ever happens.

What do you all think?

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't object. Although I'm west coast NA and I still manage to get about 160-170 ping on the current server, which isn't really that bad.

Would love a server. I propose to be admin, since I don't sleep. Is it time to donate for another server?

I would support this if the server was in the middle of the country or texas so it provides acceptable pings for all. Personally I'm in NY.

I'm in the Midwest and I usually get 110-120 on the regular server, which is more than manageable (In fact I seem to do better as scout at that ping than lower pings, maybe just because I'm used to playing scout on that server)
