Author Topic: How do I create a world with very few layers between caverns?  (Read 708 times)

Title says it all. I like the magma to be as close as possible, in the past I would just select 1 cavern layer and that would work pretty well. But now I want to have all 3 cavern layers, and not much space in between. All of the world gen parameters seem to be pre-set with the lowest numbers possible between cavern layers, yet I still seem to end up with 70+ z'level maps. Any suggestions?

Biome differences and surface topology all affect the layers between caverns.  So do features like passageways down.  It's kind of hit or miss, but you'll get pretty much what you want if you embark on a single-biome flat (as in, completely flat, all 0's on the site finder) area.

It is really, really easy to flood this place with magma fwiw.

Doors stop fire, right?
