Sim City
« on: July 05, 2011, 07:14:48 am »

I picked up (okay, torrented- but no CD drive on my little netbook) a copy of SC3K recently.
That was a very Dwarfy end to my most recent city. First, people started moving out- from a population of 200k to 70k- because I kept levelling the terrain and accidentally killing the water supply to my industrial sector. Then, an earthquake struck my power plants and Fukushima'd three-quarters of my industrial sector. In other words, my industry got fucked. I had to take out a large number of loans to revitalise it, and put a toxic waste plant next to my water supply. Then, when things couldn't get worse, a tornado hit my residential sector. I was able to revitalise the city to its former glory and get it ready for expansion, but I couldn't, because the interest on the loans was costing me $30,000 a year more than I was taking in, even with taxes, a gigamall, military base, toxic waste dump, $12,000 a year from taking a neighbor's garbage and casino, and eventually I was fired. Very Fun. I'm realizing with a sense of horror that I'm becoming trained to play everything in a Dwarfy way.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.
