I've just had an amusingly wonderful idea for a fortress based off the movie The Thief and The Cobbler. The thief's antics alone are enough to prove this a very dwarfy movie, but it's the palace and it's trippy lay-out that makes me want to build it. The only problem is how to pull it together. It's essential to include at least the 3 Golden "Balls", a palace worthy of Escher, and some truly bizarre war-machines (the One Eye Army's siege engine...  ). It might be hard to do if the embark site is in a desert, which I've personally never done with a fort before, but the idea sounds like FUN.

Any suggestions on how to build this are welcomed. Also, feel free to share any movie, cartoon, game or other randomly inspired fort ideas in this thread.
