Chess with CoughDrop! (New-to-Chess Players Welcome!)
« on: June 29, 2011, 02:51:12 pm »

Play me in chess!

New players that would like to learn chess are welcome to ask questions!

You are white and get to go first. Mostly whoever posts first takes the move, but I won't let someone ruin the game by letting them make a terrible move.

For who takes the move, I will generally go with the first comment if it's been a while and few people have posted, but if someone has posted a better move that the majority agrees is better, I'll go with that instead.

The chess program I'm using is called Der Bringer. It's a German program, but it has English translations.
If you have any questions or requests, feel free to ask.

Do you prefer long or short notation?

Anyway, going with long: d2-d4

Gah, took me too long to set this up and now I have to go to work. I'll update in 4-5 hours.

Do you prefer long or short notation?

Either is perfectly acceptable.

I'd go with classic e2-e4, but
d2-d4
was first, so that.

Sorry for the delay... but I just finished an 11-hour-day at work.

Turn 1
White: Pawn D2-D4
Black: Knight G8-F6

It doesn't necessarily need to be the first person to post, I guess. If someone else has a better move, and most others agree that it is better, I'll take that move instead.

Disagree. Let's do the Queen's Gambit opening with c4.
