My dwarves have started spamming the announcement "____ cancels 'give water' - needs empty bucket" over and over. Literally hundreds of times. Multiple dwarves are doing it, and sometimes one dwarf will do it so rapidly that the announcement will hit x30.

It started after I had no alcohol for months, but even now that I DO have alcohol it won't stop. I have no well, or buckets, to boot.

you probably have an injured dwarf resting somewhere. He need to be fed, and dwarves with the "health care" job will bring him food and water in a bucket. of course, if you don't have any bucket...

You can either build one or two bucket, or else desactivate the "health care" job for all your dwarves (in this case, the injured dwarf will probably die from deshydratation)

Note that the seaside forts seems to have a critical shortage of fresh water, and this may be quite anoying

i had this happening all the way through winter because all my pools had frozen injured dwarfs should drink alky-hol

I had this problem on my seaside fort. The solution is to lock the injured dwarves in their room (or otherwise cut them off). Since there is no path, they stop trying to give water. Unfortunately, if you have no buckets (or no freshwater), they're a goner, as traders won't bring water.

Just a note, the same happens if you run out of food - you get spammed with something like "cancels give food - no food".
