will mass-designated everything on the chosen tiles for dumping.

[ k ] and remove the dump designation from the cages.

edit: [ d ] > [ b ] > [ c ] and reclaim the items on the same tiles. The items in the caged prisoners' inventories are forbidden by default, so they must be reclaimed.

I prefer d->b->h - Hiding his stuff, so that I know exactly which weapons/armor belong to him/her; then I selectively dump his equipment from the stock screen (it's the only one with the (H)idden flag).
